So my radarr instance died and migrating to a new one was a pia but i got it done, one thing that would have made it easier was the inclusion of imdb Ids on the folders - I know if I add this to my old media it will cause jellyfin to lose all history on those files. But plex will just update in place. Is there anyway to mimic this behavior?

    Hey @gaming09

No that is really not possible with the way jellyfin is build. Jellyfin uses an sqlite database to store the files metadata like location, watch status, tags and libaries in its jellyfin.db . To Identify each individual media within that database, a key is generated based on the path of the media so two movies that are named the same and stored at the same location are considered "the same". But because JF uses the Path as the identifying factor for the media files, you cannot change it.

For the future, it is possible to set the imdb id in the filename as our documentation describes.
    typos are finders, keepers.

Having the IMDb # would prevent this behavior?

Having any kind of provider id on your media prevents this behaviour because watched state is bound to provider ids and not removed when the item is removed.
