I just recently installed Jellyfin and from the dock tray I click open and I get this splash page that asks me to log in with no place to register. I'm stuck and hoping someone can help me out.

    thanks!

This probably means that you had a previous installation, or used a different server, and the browser cache needs to be cleared. Just clear the cache for your server address and see if the wizard shows up after that.

oh ok! this makes sense but it didn't fix the error. I even tried the "forgot password" option and I can't get through.

    steps:
close jelly fin in system tray, clear cache in both firefox and chrome, re-open jellyfin. Same splash page Slightly-frowning-face

    Go to

    C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\config

Open system.xml. Change this line near the top from true to false.

    <IsStartupWizardCompleted>true</IsStartupWizardCompleted>

these instructions are great, however I don't have a folder named "config"

I did look through the existing xml files and when searching for "wizard" i couldn't find anything to change the flag from true to false. i did try to change the True on line 333 of mediabrowser.xml but it didn't do anything. the only other wizard entry is in the jellyfin.api.xml but no flags can be changed from what i can see.

I also only see a system.xml.dll, that when i try to open is unreadable

Thanks for all your help so far

    C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\config

    Program data, not program files.
