I recently purchased the blu-ray set of Slow Horses, seasons 1-3, and have imported them to Jellyfin.

This show was produced by Will Smith, a white British bloke who writes, produces, and does a little acting (https://www.themoviedb.org/person/234120-will-smith).

But in Jellyfin, the picture shows Will Smith, a black American known for "The Slap" (https://www.themoviedb.org/person/2888-will-smith).

If I open the details of this person I get the biography for the American, a list of the movies of his on my Server, but also Slow Horses.

I've fixed this by changing TMDB ID in the metadata for this person, and now I get the correct picture and bio, but his page on my Jellyfin server still shows all of the American's movies? How do I fix this

For future reference, how does Jellyfin handle pulling the correct information for two people who happen to have the same name?

Now edited to add: This actually doesn't fix anything. Because now, if I go to I Am Legend, I see the photo of a white British gentleman as the main actor. So it looks like Jellyfin needs a way to ID/separate two persons with the same name, not just have a single "Will Smith" entry in the metadata/people directory.

Can I fix this within my Jellyfin server somehow?

In the same way you can manually "identify" a show or movie by providing an ID, you can do the same for people. On "Will Smith's" portrait in Slow Horses, click the "..." context menu, Identify, and provide the 234120 TMDB ID.

Unfortunately, the database currently uses a person's name as their unique identifier, so when you have two people with the same name, they get merged into one entry. There's no fix for this currently until the database has been redesigned.

Please re-read my post. If I change it in one place, for Slow Horses, it changes "Will Smith" everywhere. So after the change is made, the Will Smith in "I Am Legend" or "I, Robot" is identified as a white Brit who's a comedian, writer, and actor.

Thank you. Any idea when a database redesign is coming?

Database redesign is in progress. It's been in progress for a while, it just involves changing literally everything so it's not a small task and is still quite a ways out from being finished
