I have been using Jellyfin for a few months now, and everything has gone pretty well. I have a main TV that I use in my house, which is the LG brand, and that's the main device I watch Jellyfin on. For whatever reason, about a week ago, completely randomly with no Input Jellyfin just stops working. I was watching one movie, and then once turning on the next it started having this problem.

Every 2-3 minutes of playing a movie, it can also be paused, Jellyfin shuts down and restarts, putting me back on the home screen. I get a message on the TV "We had to restart this app to free cache", or something along those lines. It has really bugged me, and I basically can't watch anything on it anymore. Every other device works fine with Jellyfin, that TV is the only device I'm having issues with. I don't have any other LG TV's to try it with, so I don't know if this is a widespread problem or not.

Anyway, I've tried disabling background app refreshes, changing different settings it says to change online, restarting the TV, and even giving the TV a factory reset. I've done everything I can find online except call customer support and/or get a replacement. It starts to make me wonder if the problem is on the server side. Nothing suspicious. The dashboard has it playing as normal and then JellyFin sees the client exiting. Nothing suspicious in the encoding logs. I'm pulling my hair out, this is very bothersome. Is there anything I'm missing? I need a fix! Thanks.

What version of the Jellyfin Android TV app is the TV running?
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1

It's the latest version as of my troubleshooting run, I already had the latest version but I double checked and also reinstalled Jellyfin, so probably 2.5.2?

2.5.2? Not 0.15.11? 2.5.2 is the latest full Android phone version. 0.15.11 is the Android TV version (not including the recently released beta).

Ya I just double checked, sorry. It's 0.15.11, I knew it was the latest version I just didn't know which one.

Can you post your jellyfin server logs? Also, specs of the server? Server OS, version of jellyfin server?

    Server Version: 10.8.10
    Server Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dVfcCd
Server OS: Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems

Nothing else is running on my server whenever this happens, I transcode at 800fps on average.

For that second log, is that the entire thing? Seems incomplete.

Do you have DLNA on? Do you use it? If not, turn it off? Seems like it is crashing due to some DLNA issue.

Can you restart Jellyfin and then play a video, reproduce the issue, and post the jellyfin log? I don't see any playback related logs.

DLNA? I’ll have to check that, I’ll test it again later I don’t have a lot of time tomorrow, but thanks! I gave you the incomplete logs because I know one of them is too big for pastebin and the other has a lot of repetitive stuff. For the ffmpeg log I put “… … …” in between breaks of stuff that’s just repeating, as it’s just a stream of transcodes, and the other log I just put the beginning before it got repetitive again since it was too big to fit anyway.
