    Hello,

I'm running windows 11, I can connect to Jellyfin on my computer as that's where I set it up, it also connects fine on my android phone app as well as the firestick.

When I installed the media player on my laptop It worked, but as soon as I shut down my laptop and rebooted it rarely opens, I get hit by the connect to server screen, if I enter my server details sometimes I can log in but most of the time another message pops up saying we're unable to connect to the selected server right now.

I have tried deleting the media player app data and deleting the tokens from my devices but it still happens.

When I can't access it I try on my phone and I'm in straight away. If I uninstall the media player and log in through the browser I get in straight away.

This is all on the same network.

Are you using a reverse proxy for connecting to your jellyfin? Can you share both the jellyfin media player and jellyfin server logs via pastebin? On Jellyfin Media Player, make sure you attempt to connect so we can get logs from both sides.

I will get those logs as soon as I can, I'm not using a reverse proxy.

I have downloaded Kodi on my laptop and it connects every time,so it does sound like a issue with JFMP.

I am going to mark this as solved.

When I bootup my laptop I seem to have to wait for 5 minutes before I click on the media  player doing it this way the media player connects as should.

If I don't wait then it won't connect even if I refresh,I would have to reboot again and wait for that 5 minutes. I can click on Kodi straight away and it connects to the Jellyfin server.

A question I don't need to set any firewall settings on the laptop for JFMP to work?

No.  Only opening port 8096 on the server side is necessary.  As long as you don't have any apps on the client, like a VPN or something, that could interfere with network connections then I can't think of anything else that would cause this.

Thanks. No I don't have anything else on the laptop that could be messing with the network. Very strange,as it works I'm happy.
