Have my system specs, this should be all Jellyfin software issues. Though perhaps there is a bug in the overhead software even I am not aware of, so here you go.
---------
- Proxmox System Info:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
RAM: 128GB
- Ubuntu Server 22.04.4 LTS VM (Jellyfin)
Cores: 6
RAM: 10 Ballon and 32GB
GPU: Acer Preditor Intel Arc770 16GB
Jellyfin: 10.8.13
---------
Jellyfin has been fine for a long time. However, recently a few shows have been overlapping on status of being watched. Some I could understand it due to the naming. However, it started to happen with Doom Patrol and Heroes. When I watched an episode of Doom Patrol that same episode number would be marked as watched on Heroes. Then when Heroes episodes are unchecked it marks Doom Patrols episode as unchecked.
The media was sent through MediaElch before being put into Jellyfin. The Media is also in different library entries on Jellyfin and located in different folders. My hierarchy is like (Media > TV > TV Series > (TV Rating) > Show Name (Year) > Season 4 > Doom Patrol - 4x01 - Doom Patrol.mkv). The libraries on Jellyfin are also linked to the Ratings folders such as TV-MA or TV-14 are actually a library in Jellyfin as well. This has never been an issue with my media hierarchy before, though there is a first time for anything.
I originally thought this was a media tagging issue such as IMDb, TVDB, et cetera. This was a bust and each one has the correct metadata that links to the correct shows and episodes. I've also done metadata scans for missing data and allowed for overwrites of replacing it all on each season of all the TV series this has been occurring with. This ends with the same results of marking both series as watched.
All logs in the dashboard do not state both shows being watched and all profiles in Jellyfin that watch one of the shows episodes gets the other show marked are watched on the same episode number. I've checked further with the system logs and there doesn't seem to be anything with errors on such a thing. I can post things up with it if requested, though nothing stands out for either of these shows.
Access to the media is not locked off. Jellyfin has full permissions and ownership of the files via my TrueNas machine. All permissions are setup properly to connect the VM and TrueNas server via Samba. There are no write errors, read errors, or any of this when changing metadata. All metadata can be written directly to the shares.
This isn't the worst bug ever, but it is a light bother. However, if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or anything for me, I very much appreciate it. Thanks for your time and energy in reading all this and replying.
