Your iGPU supports hardware accelerated MJPEG encoding. Set the priority to below normal.

That shouldn't "fix" this, but I wondering about transcoding in general.

Does transcoding work on your system? How do you have Dashboard > Playback configured? I'm pretty sure trickplay inherits some of those configs. Can you share screenshots of that screen?

Transcoding works with no problems, as far as I know. I didn't encounter problems with it so far.

    Here are my Playback settings:

Unrelated, your iGPU cannot decode AV1.

Can you submit a github issue for this? Including the log snippet from your post on page 2 of this thread.

Thanks for the tip regarding AV1 -- I disabled that.
Unfortunately, I'm no expert relating to what my iGPU can or cant decode. A while ago I just followed a youtube video with a "starter" configuration setup.

Alrighty, tomorrow I'll open an issue about this on the Jellyfin Github page.

Thank you for your help 🙏

I'm trying to figure out how to tell if the bif files are being converted. When I click the, "convert your already generated .BIF files to native format" it doesn't seem to do anything. If I click it again it gives me a message that says, "[!] Already busy running a task."

For a little while, the server hangs, which makes me think it's doing something, but then i check in the /config/metadata/library folder (and subfolders) and don't find any trickplay files in there.

I've been poking around the forums trying to see if anyone else is having the same issue I'm having but haven't found anything (granted my google-fu and search ability are rusty at best, so it may be there, I'm just not finding it).

Server version 10.9.6, fresh install, as far as I can tell trickplay is enabled on all libraries (the boxes are checked), and trickplay settings are configured.

I did find that trickplay was getting an error when trying to run the schedule task (just to verify trickplay was attempting to do something on its own), but the suggestion in this thread of disabling hardware transcode fixed that; the trickplay files were being generated in a /config/cache/temp folder, and I didn't wait to see if they were eventually moved to the metadata folder. This seems unrelated to bif file conversion issue I'm having, but I thought it might be worth a mention.

    I have the same problem.

    Jellyfin 10.9.7
    Windows 11
    AMD Ryzen 3400G

The jellyfin update from 10.9.6 to 10.9.7 crashes my complete server. I´ve lost all my cover files inclusive the .bif files. So i make a full reinstall of jellyfin 10.9.7. And this version is extrem buggy.

When identifying files manually, the covers are not loaded correctly or not loaded at all. Sometimes it also takes an extremely long time before anything is displayed at all. Film data is often transferred, but the main cover is missing. Then I have to repeat the “Identify” process several times before anything is transferred at all.

And of course, Trickplay doesn't work at all. It remains permanently at 0.0%. No matter whether I restart the server or restart Trickplay. Nothing happens at all. Neither with nor without hardware acceleration activated. This version is currently a pure disaster. :-/

Can you post your full jellyfin logs to pastebin and link back here?

What you're describing is not typical. I have several Jellyfin instances. My main instance is running directly on Ubuntu (Intel Arc GPU). And my test instances are running in Docker on Ubuntu (Intel GPU), Docker on PopOS (AMD RX6800 GPU), directly in Windows (AMD GPU), and Docker in Unraid (AMD GPU). None behave like you've described.

So let's leave the hyperbole at the door and try to figure out what is going on.

Log was to big for pastebin. Here the log.txt via wetransfer. I hope that is ok

I can't access wetransfer where I'm at. Zip the log and attach it to a forum post.

There is no function to add files. Only links, pictures, videos and mails. Which file hoster works for you?
