Per title: Subtitle settings are not being applied correctly.

Jellyfin Server Version - 10.9.10 (Running in an Ubuntu VM)
Videos are being viewed in Firefox Browser V130 on a Mac Studio running macOS Sonoma 14.5

    My settings for subtitles:
    Text Size: Smaller
    Text Weight:Normal
    Font: Default
    Text Color:White
    Drop Shadow: Drop Shadow
    Vertical Position:-3

Subtitle file was downloaded via Jellyfin and is stored in same directory as source file.

Make sure you don't have a non-SRT subtitle stream with the "Forced" tab.

In Chrome, changing the subtitle appearance settings appears to work for SRT subs. My work PC doesn't have Firefox so I can't test that until I get home tonight.

    Thanks for responding.

The subtitle file is Homeland - S01E01 - Pilot Bluray-720p.eng.sdh.srt

Does the video have any embedded subs?

Since SRT subs are rendered on the client, Firefox would be responsible for honoring any parameters you give it for the text.

Have you tried Chrome/Chromium? Is it just Firefox that is the problem?

    Just tested this out too.

Changing the display for SRT subtitles works on Chrome, but doesn't on Firefox.

Same here. I used Brave and got them to display correctly.
Plex does not have this problem on Firefox.

Is there any setting in Firefox that I should be looking at or changing?

I encounter the same issue (Firefox), if someone has found a workaround not involving changing the browser, I'll be glad to listen to it Smiling-face !

The issue is with Firefox. SRT subtitle rendering is client side. Any rendering issues are, 99% likely, an issue with the client (Firefox) itself. Jellyfin has no control over this.

You can try other non-Chrome browsers like Opera, de-Googled Chromium, Brave (Chromium based).
