    Hello,

I have a question about how medata is handled when you delete media. Specifically images generated by trickyplay. I really don't want a bunch of unused trickyplay images taking up space on my hard drive if I delete a movie or TV show. I've looked around for this and found conflicting answers from months ago, so I'm looking for the most up to date answer.

I understand that in the /medata/library folder that each folder has a trickyplay folder. I was curious if there's a scheduled task that detects if media is deleted and deletes trickyplay images associated with that media once it realizes that it no longer exists. If not, is this a planned feature, and how can I set up a scan to do so?

I am pretty sure all the images, attachments, extracted subtitles, and trickplays are deleted when the movie/show is deleted.

    Ah, gotcha. Thanks dread.

Was this always the case for trickyplay images?

I combed through a couple of github discussions and saw that they had to be manually deleted at some point.

I ran a quick test and can also confirm that the trickplay images were automatically deleted from the metadata folder when the media was removed from the library.

I have honestly never tried until just now.  But theguymadmax beat me to it.  I deleted a few libraries in my test instance and /config went from 11GB to 2.5GB.  So a lot of data was deleted.

I vaguely recall that this was an issue that was resolved by one of the 10.9.X versions.

Thank you so much guys. I really appreciate it. It was driving me crazy wondering if data was left over. Gives me peace of mind to know everything functions as expected.
