    TVDB 10.0.0.0
    Jellyfin 10.8.10

There are no logs that show up when I use the TVDB id to look up values (so I can't share them), some work and some don't.
    Works: 362696
    Doesn't work: 371778

I'm not sure where the code is getting picked because I tried to debug the code and didn't see the breakpoints hit either, while I was able to fix some of the code for the Bookshelf and IMVDB plugins.

Strange "371778" works for me but maybe it's the wrong series. I've found identifying things with the imdb identifier sometimes works well to find some series.

Jellyfin does some logging for lookups. What do you see in the jellyfin logs for the shows that don't work.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380

The issue is that some shows aren't in IMDB, but only TVDB for some reason (that id I mentioned is https://thetvdb.com/series/pop-culture-detective but there's no IMDB equivalent). Maybe because it's a YouTube show? I don't see any logs for the TV lookup but maybe there's additional log level details I need to set? This is Windows, log location in: C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\log

Do you have TVDB enabled as a metadata provider for the specific library where you have your TV shows? I was having an issue much like yours where entering a TVDB ID in the box brought up no results and didn't put anything in the log. I had exactly the same problem with TVMaze.

It turned out that even though I'd installed the plugins, restarted, and Jellyfin showed the TVDB and TVMaze ID boxes on the Identify page, there was still one more step; I also needed to enable these as metadata providers for my TV library.

To do that, go to Dashboard > Libraries > (Name of your TV library)

Scroll down and tick the provider(s) in question for whichever purposes you want them to be used for. Options are: Metadata downloaders (TV Programmes), Metadata downloaders (Series), Metadata downloaders (Episodes), and various image fetching options.

You can also rank the different providers within each purpose. I guess this would allow you to make it prefer one provider for TV series, another for the individual episodes, and a third one for the images.

Of course, that wouldn't explain why some TVDB IDs are working for you, unless one of the other metadata providers is somehow picking them up?

Oh you are an absolute lifesaver. This was taking me so long to figure out and I was getting so frustrated. I wish these steps were written in the plugin github readme! Thank you so much!
