Hi, I'm very new to this, Ive looked for a week on forums and youtube to fix this with not luck,  I got a Synology 218+ nas, 2x2gb drives a year ago, I managed to get it up and running, I just installed jellyfin from the Synocomunity way as I didnt think I could do it the docker way,  and got jellyfin up and running well & life was good, I watch it on two firesticks 4k max, then some time ago I started to get the You have to update to 10.9 to keep watching, anyway last week it finally stopped working. So I had to update it, first of all I had to update the Synology software and then Jellyfin with FFmpeg 6, now after a few reboots I got my jellyfin app's on the firesticks to work, most things play apart from, the current TV show id been watching (House MD) just get Play back error ( Playback failed due to a fatal player error. ) but other tv shows & movies Ive tried work, so far.

Anyway I log on to jellyfin through the windows browser, and get a strange message about site certificate, but i can force my way through and sign in ok, so I go into the synology/control Panel/security/certificate and my xxxxxxx.direct.quickconnect.to cert is Expired. this was under a year so I take it the forced update I had to do messed this up. anyway I tired to renew the cert, no joy, it asks me for a domain name: I never had a domin name like test.com, when I looked at some videos the seem to have a xxxxxxx.synology.me, where do you get that and now? I seemed to have xxxxxxx.direct.quickconnect.to, this was my way to get into the server.

anyway another issue I found was when I was looking to load the Jellyfin & FFmpeg 6 apps through Synocomunity I get a connection failed, Please check you network and time settings. I tried to sync the time, this got, Error occurred while diskstation was synchronizing with time.google.com.

Side note: incase this is doing something, everytime my internet rebooted it give my server a new ip number which messed with me watching my firesticks, so I changed  the settings on my router to a set ip so it will never need to change them setting again. ie 198.168.1.xxx

It could be that this certificate issue is the reason why I have all these other issues??

I know this is jellyfin forum and I seem to have more of any issue with my Synology nas now, but I only run fellyfin and its the only reason why I have a server.

I have tried to search myself but ive read so much my head is fryed  & I'm now at the stage where I need to ask for help? Thank you to anyone who can help or point me int the right direction.

I think your best course of action would be to direct your support requests to synocommunity or other related synology support avenues, considering you are running an unofficial Jellyfin package and most of your problems seem to relate directly to Synology, as you've expressed. Not everyone here is going to be well versed in very specific synology problems.
