I would like to have a few information functions in Jellyfin.

I often update my movies and series. This means that I often convert the formats again afterwards. For example, I know that formats such as m2ts or MKV cause problems on some devices or are sometimes very large. That's why I'm gradually converting all movies to MP4 (x265).

And I would like to inform my users that I am making such changes and that some movies are not available at this time. However, in Jellyfin there is only the possibility to inform each user in the form of a text message while watching a movie. Unfortunately, this is not great, as this message is often simply overlooked and I don't have the time to write to or contact each user individually.

That's why an admin message at the top of Jellyfin would be great.

A function on the movie cover images would also be great. Where you could, for example, specify the format of the movie or the quality. For example, in the form of a small horizontal strip in the top right corner of the movie cover (as an overlay, so to speak). If it is not clear what I mean, I can create an example graphic.

I would have liked to post the two suggestions in Fider. However, I don't know how to do that. Despite being logged in (via github) I can't post anything there. I can only vote.
That's why I'm posting it here.

Using webhooks could be useful for your needs. You'd setup a discord webhook to send messages about changes to your Jellyfin server. This is assuming all your users are in the same discord server.

Cool idea, but not much use to me. Some of my private viewers don't use Discord. Because I don't know anything about Discord webhooks and am constantly jumping around on other Discords where I don't have administrative rights.
I've used Subsonic for years and am just used to the ability to use information within the site. Jellyfin is now my favorite player but I do miss the features mentioned.

A chat feature is not a must. However, the features mentioned above would be great. Especially for people who only use the TV for Jellyfin, for example.

Then you could also leave a message there. For example, when the server is offline due to maintenance work or similar.

As I said, I can also create a few example graphics of how I imagine it to look. Since I'm quite good at Photoshop, that wouldn't be a problem for me. Smiling-face
