GEE after getting fed up once again with Emby's BS over permissions I gave Jellyfin another look. Sure enough as usual Jellyfin don't and doesn't have any issues with the default permissions. Jelly fin has a per library search. Jellyfin logs cover everything, no having a issue and having to switch to trace or debug and wait and see if the issue happens again so you can post the logs. The only issues I see with Jellyfion are no folder view under movies, episode view for TV on the server app but no in the app for the TV, linking to themes and theme components instead of end-user editable code. There may be some features Emby has that would be nice to have in Jellyfin but overall Jellyfin seems to fit my needs just fine.

Have you noticed any performance differences between Jellyfin and Emby when streaming large 4K libraries or using hardware transcoding?

I recently started using Emby like a month ago for the first time. Since I got tired of the 10.11.X builds being a nightmare for me. Feeling like stable is beta and the 12.0 unstable builds being a bit better but still problematic. I just wanted something that stopped stuttering my media and wasn't taking ages to load a menus. Anyway...

I've not really seen any performance gains in a previous working 10.10.X and lower Jellyfin compared to Emby 4.9.5.0 for playback. They both use my Arc GPU and playback the content virtually the same. However, I will say Emby does scan libraries faster than Jellyfin overall and Media Segment style scans are a bit faster on Emby.

As far as I'm aware Emby uses a modified FFMpeg. So it's basically just like Jellyfin as Jellyfin also uses the Jellyfin-FFmpeg. Perhaps since I am not using an AMD or Nvidia GPU I am not noticing something? Though with a Acer Intel Arc GPU I really having seen any major gains over the two.
