    Hi,

Basically I want to move from Jellyfin managed users to LDAP. Will the new LDAP users keep the watch history and user settings if they share the same username?

If not, is there any way to link these accounts together? Or a database script to migrate the watch states (even if I have to manually match the UUIDs)?

    Thanks!

I'm not familiar with how LDAP and Jellyfin work together, so I can't answer that part.

But I do know that you can use Trakt, which Jellyfin as a plugin for, to sync your watch status externally and then bring the watch status back in to the new users.

Thanks for the fast reply Smiling-face

I never used Trak but from a quick look, I assume I would have to ask every single user to go sign up and back up the watch history on their own individually?

They don't have to sign up. You can do it for them.

I'm not too familiar with how Trakt works. Are you not able to sync multiple users to one account?

I could be wrong but not as far as I can tell. On the Trakt website I have just my own Watch History after signing up with no way to add someone else's.

If the username matches the LDAP username attribute that you pick you should just be able to change the auth provider on the user profile.

Awesome, that's all I needed to hear before investing more time into this.

    Thanks a lot!
