Setup a jellyfin server on a windows 11 machine last month. While I would consider myself tech savvy (at one point) I am at a loss here.

    Device Specs:

    Processor 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700K  3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
    Intel Arc A750 gpu

    1gb network in home
several synology drives acting as media storage

    Jellyfin Details:
    Server 10.10.3  (windows 11)
    Web 10.9.11
    Build 10.9.11

    Current issue:
When I load into Jellyfin from a remote device or directly on the server machine all of my media thumbnails (except for content stored on 1 network drive) are blurred out.

Trying to play ANY media file results in a Fatal Playback Error message.

Log mention that the files that jellyfin is looking for do not exist. When copying the file location from the Jellyfin logs into windows explorer I can connect directly to the file, it is present, and it will play in VLC (or another media player).

Events leading up to this issue:
    1) Two days ago I installed a plugin for Open Subtitles support
Played videos from my server with no issues at all with or without subtitles showing.

    2) This morning the pc ran a windows update
    3) Trying to connect to the server and play a video on any device results in the error posted above.

    Current log:
    https://pastebin.com/QMnHMzdw

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB

I ran the windows installer to install the server and I have "auto start" checked in the context menu for the jellfyfin tray icon.

    Thank you for the help!!

**update** this is NOT installed as a service. It's is just installed as a simple install with "auto start" checked on the jellyfin system tray.

I can say that I did do the following:
    Run gpedit.msc (Windows key+r)
Go to computer Configuration -> Windows Setting -> Scripts(Startup/shutdown)
Go to Startup properties and added a new rule
This did work on reboot but after the windows update I haven't been able to play any videos.

Can you share the full jellyfin log via pastebin? Not the ffmpeg log. log_20241125.log.

What kind of network shares are these? NFS or SMB/CIFS? Did the user that is running Jellyfin all map these network shares? Or were they mapped by another user?

Only one user account on this device.

They are a combination of synology, Buffalo, and wd storage drives.

Basic smb connections with the drive shares created in windows explorer “add network location”.

I can remove a mapping and create it again to see if that helps.

    **update**
I removed a library from the jellyfin dashboard
    Shut down jellyfin
Removed the network shared drive in windows
Recreated the share drive with a different drive letter and chose “reconnect at log in”.
    Restarted the pc
Opened jellyfin and attempted to add the new library.
Jellyfin could not connect to the network shared even though windows explorer could connect with no issue.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Outside of a full wipe and reinstall I am out of ideas after fiddling with this over the past week.

    Thanks!

You need to use the "Map network drive" option, not "Add network location."
