    Jellyfin Version: 10.8.13

Im having a problem with star wars rebels where seasons 1-3 (4 is detected properly) are missing the first episodes and thus marking the 3rd episode number 1.
When actually opening the episode to watch in jellyfin it will be correct one but the metadata in the menu is shown wrongly. Since the seasons do have all the files, some episodes are shown "duplicated"
I suspect this is some issue of not retrieving the metadata as they are listed in imdb properly ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2930604/episodes/?season=2 )

I attached some pictures of season 2 as example.

By default Jellyfin doesn't use IMDB for metadata retrieval. Metadata by default comes from TMDB, which for whatever reason considers Spark of Rebellion and The Siege of Lothal to be specials, rather than the first episodes of seasons 1 and 2. You have a couple options that I can see.

You can either tell Jellyfin to use DVD order for the episodes, or just rename your files to match what TMDB has in its default ordering. Either way, you'll also need to adjust for the fact that you have Siege of Lothal, at least, split into two episodes, while TMDB considers it to be a single 45-minute episode.

TMDB has 3 alternate orders for for this show. Neither the original airing order nor any of the 3 alternates (including the one called Disney +) follow Disney+'s episode order for S01-S03.

The one called "Disney+" is the closest thing to it, with TMDB treating some episodes (Spark of Rebellion, The Siege of Lothal, Twilight of the Apprentice, and Steps Into the Shadow) as single and Disney+ splitting them into 2 parts. Is there a way to make Jellyfin use that particular version? It would be easier to create nfos / rename files from this version than the air order / DVD.

If you "Edit Metadata" for the show, about halfway down the menu is an option with some generic "display orders". TMDB should list the type of ordering this "Disney+" option is. The problem is that if there are multiple of that type Jellyfin will pick the first option when it queries for that type. There is no way to make Jellyfin use a particular order of a particular type.

NFOs might be your best option. Or you could create your own ordering in TMDB (requires you create a TMDB account).

Weird thing is, it looks like TVDB does have the correct ordering if i selected "DVD Order". I went into the dashboard and put TVDB aboive TMDB order. Even renamed the file to match what was in TVDB. Which did get the first two episodes correct... but now the 3rd episode is gone, and Ep4 is marked as Ep3.. and there are TWO Ep 15's?

    This is so bizarre!

[Edit] Ok. I ended up using a file rename and adding the NFO files and that seems to have resolved the issue and the episodes are showing up correctly now. Bit of a bummer since this is the first time ive run into this issue as the rest of the content doesnt need the extra files, but oh well. Its working now Smiling-face

Sometimes metadata can be "sticky". When I've changed the ordering of a show, occasionally I need to move the folder out of the library, scan to remove it, move it back into the library and re-scan to add it back.
