Issue transcoding on Ubuntu 20.04

hello guys and girls

i am trying to do to transcoding but i miserably fail.

  • i am using ubuntu 20.04
  • intel i5-8400t, 32Gb Ram, running on a nvme ssd, cable connection (400down / 40up)
  • tried QS and VAAPI
  • ffmpeg path: /usr/lib/jellyfin-ffmpeg/ffmpeg
  • transcoding pathr: /var/tmp/transcode (Ram transcoding)
  • number of transcoding threads set to maximum
  • VA API Device: /dev/dri/renderD128
  • have a hdmi dummyplug but already tried connecting my oled

my username on jellyfin is not on that group…
i suppose it has to do something with permissions or groups, but since i am not very Linux savvy i don’t wanna do something that i can’t undo later on.

would someone be so kind as to guide me into the right direction?
