HDR Tone Mappng Over Satureated - Psychic - 2024-04-08 Specs OS-TrueNas Scale (Jellyfin deployed natively) CPU- 12700k (using iGPU) RAM- 32GB DDR4 Mobo- ASRock B760M Pro RS/D4 Storage- Installed on 250 NVME SSD Essentially, as the title says I've tried a variety of settings to alleviate the issue, but I can't seem to find a fix, all my HDR content videos are overly saturated, I've tried just trying to specify my acquisitions to avoid HDR, but sometimes they slip through so i suppose its time for me to find a fix. Seems like the half of my post is in black that's weird here's what it says " Mobo- /DASRock B760M Pro RS/D4 Storage- Installed on 250 NVME SSD Essentially, as the title says I've tried a variety of settings to alleviate the issue, but I can't seem to find a fix, all my HDR content videos are overly saturated, I've tried just trying to specify my acquisitions to avoid HDR, but sometimes they slip through so i suppose its time for me to find a fix. Did you have this problem with the defaults? In particular, the tone mapping algorithm set to BT2390 and the tone mapping peak set to 100. Pretty sure the tone mapping peak set to 10 is a significant contributor to this. RE: HDR Tone Mappng Over Satureated - nyanmisaka - 2024-04-08 There are two methods to de-satureate tonemapped video. Did you have this problem with the defaults? so at default, it was oversaturated and from there I was just playing with it trying to best come up with the proper settings to fix it, unless I suck at googling I wasn't able to find much information on how to fix this. granted I am fairly new at dealing with this particular problem (2024-04-08, 01:45 PM)nyanmisaka Wrote: There are two methods to de-satureate tonemapped video. I played with those two settings, but they never came out right RE: HDR Tone Mappng Over Satureated - nyanmisaka - 2024-04-09 I see you enabled Intel VPP tone-mapping, this option is based on Intel fixed-function hardware, so it does not apply to the de-satureate options. Can you uncheck it and try again? WOW lol I don't even remember clicking that, I'm on truenas scale so I assumed that was default and didn't think to check it, so its not as red anymore but its still noticeable and very polarizing, what can I do to now to dial it in ? edit--- after additional testing, VP didn't seem to make as much of a difference if any as I thought RE: HDR Tone Mappng Over Satureated - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-09 What kernel is your system running?
