FWIW, this issue also happens on Amazon Firesticks that uses the same family of Mediatek chipsets. Your options are to get a different device with a different chipset, hopefully you are still in the return window, or convert your Dolby Vision content to plain HDR10. Files with DV 8.6 plays fine.
