2.1.6 was released 5 days ago, and with Roku's delay it would have reached clients 3 days ago.
This change in 2.1.6 broke playback for a lot of people.

Today 2.1.7 released that reverted that change.
AFAIK, there is no way to prevent updates from happening. Either with the OS or with "channels".

I'm using 10.11.1 and I still can't get HDR videos to play anymore. This issue started maybe a month ago. Usually the movie starts and crashes right away, most movies won't even start. Just gets playback error.
I'm using the latest version of Roku. Two months ago I was streaming all my HDR content with Jellyfin on the same TV, using the same high end PC for a media server.
