RE: ZeroTier does not connect to JellyFin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-23 Yes, syncplay is like a "watch party". But be warned that is sometimes works sometimes doesn't. It was added to Jellyfin by a solo dev who added the feature then vanished so it has been unmaintained for a while. Noted, thank you for the warning. I will endeavor to write cleaner, easier-to-maintain code myself in the coming days for my job. Tailscale worked! I was able to stream an SD resolution movie (although with pauses, probably because I'm on mobile network) and get similar performance as I get over ZeroTier for my game streaming. I couldn't get every movie to work over TailScale on a mobile network though (T-mobile). Many of them display the banner image but never seem to start. I'll have to see how it does over a normal internet connection. Works fine for home videos and music. Summary: For me, TailScale + JellyFin works better than ZeroTier + Plex (without Plex Pass). The year is 2024. |
