That's a really good pick for the housing.

I didn't want to reuse the drives on hand cuz their kinda old. Someone suggested these drives . Four of these should be plenty of space for the media I have, should they hold up well?

Also thank you so much for answering all my pesky questions. I just wanna try to avoid having to rebuy things cuz I made dumb choices.

Yep. I have the WD Red Pros in my server (also CMR, but 7200RPM).

So to recap for anyone who searches for minipc media server for jellyfin later.

Negative. Even if that CPU has a Radeon iGPU, it wouldn't be sufficient for 4K transcoding. For mini PCs, stick with Intel CPUs if you intend to use them for Jellyfin.

hmm i found the price interesting, thanks so i will back to search for anything above gen8 intel cpus.

Hi guys, i found this Optiplex 3070 I3-9éme trying to upgrade from pi4 wondering if can handle two 4k transcode ?
CPU: I3-9100T
Graph: Intel® UHD Graphics 630

If it isn't tone mapping, yes. If you are tone mapping, it may struggle.
