Jellyfin Does Not Startup After Fresh Install - zonaiprime - 2025-01-12 I recently started using jellyfin. and at first things were going smoothly, until i was fooling around with the ports. i changed the port from the default 8096 to 25565. when i restarted the server. it would stop right after i type sudo systemctl restart jellyfin.service. I the used apt remove jellyfin* to remove it from my system. then i did fresh install using jellyfins official guide. now i get a faild to exucute error. it says the result is resources. idk what that means, and im very new to using media servers in general. RE: Jellyfin Does Not Startup After Fresh Install - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-12 How did you change what port Jellyfin used and for what reason? You'd need to delete /etc/jellyfin/network.xml to reset the port jellyfin uses. I don't think the /etc/jellyfin directory is touched during an uninstall nor a purge. My roommate has an emby server running on our network and it uses 8096 as its port as well. when we tried to connect to jellyfin away from home. the ports got confused and only allowed emby to be used on port 8096. so we tried moving the port to a different port, hoping it would work. and in the web interface i hit shutdown, and the server never came back up after that. Ill look for that file right now RE: Jellyfin Does Not Startup After Fresh Install - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-12 What you could have done is set the external port on the router to something else. MOST, but not all, routers give you the option to have the external port be different than the internal port. As long as the external routers ports are different for Jellyfin and Emby, both can run on 8096 on their respective hosts. RE: Jellyfin Does Not Startup After Fresh Install - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-12 Is there anything in /etc/jellyfin? Does the jellyfin directory exist in /etc? |
