New Install: Movie Metadata Services Don't work - bugger - 2025-02-19 I never get any metadata loading. See excerpts from logs: [2025-02-19 20:45:32.882 +10:00] [ERR] [17] MediaBrowser.Providers.Movies.MovieMetadataService: Error in "The Open Movie Database" System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. ( 192.168.0.1 :811 ![]() For some reason instead of connecting to the sites, it's trying to connect to my router. I can load both websites in my browser with no problems. Any suggestions? RE: New Install: Movie Metadata Services Don't work - bugger - 2025-02-19 Further investigation of the logs seems to indicate that the server is trying to communicate to a proxy server on my routher on port 8118. It affects requests for metadata services and the plugin catelogue download. I've checked all configuration locations and can't see anything that's setting that proxy. Nothing else on my system hits the same issue. RE: New Install: Movie Metadata Services Don't work - TheDreadPirate - 2025-02-19 Pretty sure your OS would be setting up that proxy. Or a VPN? The Internet says that "Privoxy" commonly runs on that port. I do have a VPN but that runs on the local machine that's running Jellyfin. I've never set up anything related to a privoxy. I have been going through my DHCP and DNS settings to see if something might be advertising the proxy, but nothing is. I've checked system and user level environment variables. I've checked Windows Internet Proxy settings. I'm not sure where else it could come from. Nothing else on the system is having an issue connecting to internet services. RE: New Install: Movie Metadata Services Don't work - TheDreadPirate - 2025-02-19 Which VPN are you using and is it always on? Privoxy may just be part of it. RE: New Install: Movie Metadata Services Don't work - bugger - 2025-02-19 It was Private Internet Access, but it seems not to have been it. I went into Chrome and removed a bunch of extensions that no longer worked and which Chrome was saying would be removed. One of them was FoxyProxy. After removing those and restarting Jellyfin it all worked. Even though I couldn't see the setting anywhere, somewhere aspnetcore network configuration was somehow getting a setting from one of my Chrome plugins. Pretty unlikely anyone else will have this problem, but if you do, here it is. Thanks for the help @TheDreadPirate. |
