AV1 file plays in Chrome but not on mobile - goerdi - 2025-08-31
Hi !
I have several AV1 Files which im able to play in the browser on m (old) laptop using chrome, but the do not play on my mobile (s25)
all of them seems to be AV1 Vision Profile 8.1 (HDR10)
Is it possible to fix this without reencode it?

This could be an issue with either DV (but shouldn't be) or the AV1 codec. Since the S25 doesn't support DV, it should fall back to the HDR10 metadata. Additionally, it supports hardware AV1 decoding. Could you provide your Jellyfin logs and ffmpeg logs (if present) for the failed playback? Upload to somewhere like privatebin.net.

This is a problem... there is no transcode log and in the jellyfin log i see only when i ended to try to play....
on the phone i haven an endless loop untill i exit...

BTW: DV 10.1 (HDR10) plays on mobile phone....
