Can't access Jellyfin from clients - rexrains - 2023-11-04 Hey everyone. Thanks for reading. I have Jellyfin set up on a linux box running lubuntu. I finally worked my way through the permissions for libraries etc. and have run into a new problem. I cannot access Jellyfin through clients except for the one on the localhost machine. I can access the server page from a windows machine browser but not an ios or android browser on the same network. I did make sure the setting in windows defender was set to private. What should my next steps be? Thanks in advance! RE: Can't access Jellyfin from clients - TheDreadPirate - 2023-11-05 So Jellyfin is hosted on the lubuntu machine? Is the firewall open? Code: sudo ufw allow 8096 RE: Can't access Jellyfin from clients - rexrains - 2023-11-05 That seems to work! Thank you very much. iOS client can sign in. I’m new to Linux and when I checked earlier it said ufw was not turned on. Guess I should have checked anyway. Thank you! RE: Can't access Jellyfin from clients - TheDreadPirate - 2023-11-05 UFW is a frontend for iptables. If UFW is not enable that means any of the rules created within UFW are not enabled, but iptables is still running. |
