How to change the metadata source ID to pull the right information - Perseverant - 2024-02-26 I'm working on Batman, the Animated Series. It looks like TMDB and IMDB have the air order, which most agree is inferior to the production order. Without getting into all of the reasons of why I prefer production order, I basically want to manually point each episode entry in Jellyfin to the right metadata page on IMDB, but I'm having some problems with that... My filename for the first episode is: S01E01 On Leather Wings.mkv On IMDB, the ID for that episode is: tt0519608 ...but because the first episode in the IMDB order is "The Cat and the Claw Pt. 1" it points to this ID by default: tt0519626 I can go into the metadata for that episode, and swap out tt0519626 to be tt0519608 instead, but if I then try to go refresh the metadata, all it does it overwrite the new ID with the old one and pull the wrong thumbnail and wrong metadata again. Is there any way to point an episode to a different IMDB ID, and pull the metadata for that NEW ID? I really don't want to rename all of my episodes to the wrong order just so Jellyfin will pull the right metadata, then manually change the episode number in Jellyfin. RE: How to change the metadata source ID to pull the right information - TheDreadPirate - 2024-02-26 For the show, click on "..." and click edit metadata. About halfway down will be Display Order drop down. I selected DVD to match what I pulled off my discs. FWIW, I pretend that IMDB doesn't exist for the purposes of identification in Jellyfin. I use TMDB primarily and TVDB as a backup and their respective IDs and ordering. That was about 100x easier than what I was about to do, and I never before knew those episode groups even existed on TMDB. There was a "Production Order" option that matches the Blurays and I can definitely see myself using that feature again. By the way, I normally rely on TMDB as well, but figured it might have something to do with IMDB since that was the only external ID listed on the episode (wrong, obviously). Anyway, thanks for saving me a bunch of time! I read your answer and i want to say that there are some TV Shows that i can't edit IMDb ID's or others db id's. Some TV Shows have "Recognize" button and i able to edit all ID's installed by default or by plugin. Why is that so? How to change it in this case? Screenshots shows the problem. I put the translation ![]() On screenshot 1 it works fine. The second - is the problem. The third works fine too. RE: How to change the metadata source ID to pull the right information - TheDreadPirate - 2024-10-30 All the shows with a folder icon are not "shows", they are....well, folders. So there is no "show" to "identify". Is this a mixed library? And how do you have your files organized. I suspect this is either a mixed library or your organization is non-compliant with our documentation. Or both. RE: How to change the metadata source ID to pull the right information - tekutraicer - 2024-10-30 (2024-10-30, 01:20 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: All the shows with a folder icon are not "shows", they are....well, folders. So there is no "show" to "identify". Yes, it's a mixed folder. Organization is probably non-compliant but some other mixed folders work well. For example Marvel folder. All the TV Shows hasn't "recognize" button but it worked well: file names are just file names, pictures are just frames from each episode. But Star Trek Original series from 1966 - 1968 names become "Turist Ömer Uzay Yolunda" which is Turkish tv show and i can't fix it ... actually i can but i need to change names, IMDb id's of each episode manually. As for organization: for any universes like Marvel, DC, Star Trek where Movies & TV Shows present i use mixed folders. TV Shows only - just as Jellyfin docs are as well as for the movies and "Recognize" present. On my screenshot you can see Star Trek Discovery for example. This is the organization. RE: How to change the metadata source ID to pull the right information - TheDreadPirate - 2024-10-30 Yeah. Mixed libraries are buggy and unsupported. There are ongoing discussions of deprecating them entirely. That's in addition to your very much non-compliant organization. Why are Discovery's seasons in one folder, but TOS has separate folders at the same level as Discovery for each of its seasons? Additionally, it looks like you are nesting all the Star Trek shows in their own folder. Which is also non-compliant. Having this kind of organization can throw off how they are identified. Also, TMDB and TVDB list TOS as simply "Star Trek". So including "The Original Series", in addition to the other organization issues, will cause mis-identification. I don't paid enough attention to my organization. I put TOS from root of Star Trek folder to TOS folder and i got fixed all names from Turkish TV show to US. |
