Jellyfin Playback Error - xFanexx - 2024-04-12 Hello community! I have a problem with my Jellyfin Server. If i try to play an 4K movie (lets say Harry Potter) its returns me the following error: "This client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format." I tried: - Rebooting - Changing the decoding settings - Rebooting the whole server Config: - Windows Server 2022 - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB - Jellyfin version 10.8.13 - NVIDIA Driver version 552.12 What can i do that i can finally watch my movies? I will include FFmpeg logs in this post. Thanks in advance. RE: Jellyfin Playback Error - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-12 Which client are you using and what resolution is the TV? Also, the codec check boxes in your screenshot are to tell Jellyfin which codecs your GPU supports DECODING. Your 960 does NOT support most of those. https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new To be clear, if you uncheck them that just means the CPU will decode them, not that they won't play at all. And I don't think this is the cause of your problem because your GPU does support the 10-bit HEVC of this video. Check MPEG2, VP8, VP9, H264, HEVC, HEVC 10-bit. Uncheck the rest, also check tone mapping. RE: Jellyfin Playback Error - xFanexx - 2024-04-12 (2024-04-12, 01:02 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: Which client are you using and what resolution is the TV? Hey there! I am trying to watch the videos via the Chrome Browser. I am accessing the server via the ip. The Resolution of my monitor is 2560x1440 @165Hz. I unchecked the things now. It still says the same error. I don't know what to do... RE: Jellyfin Playback Error - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-12 Oh. You didn't check "enable hardware encoding". I missed that the first time. This means it is CPU encoding. What happens when you check that? Can you share the jellyfin log? Not the ffmpeg log? (I hope its the right one) RE: Jellyfin Playback Error - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-12 In Jellyfin in your browser, if you click on your profile in the top right, under (IIRC) Playback, there should be a setting to set the maximum number of audio channels. Can you set that to stereo? The output of the transcode is 7.1 and I recall that browsers support 5.1, max. RE: Jellyfin Playback Error - TheDreadPirate - 2024-04-12 For the record, I think 5.1 would be work as well for max audio channels.
