Jellyfin suddenly showing missing and future episodes. - CageyEmmm - 2024-07-01

I have no doubt this is a setting I haphazardly changed but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to fix it. My library shows every episode of every show, regardless of whether I have the file or not, but will label the ones I don’t have as “missing” or “future”. How do I turn this off?

If you have the TVDB plugin installed, then in your shows library there’s an option “Missing Episode Fetcher” that needs to be unselected. It’s usually a pain to get rid of these dummy episodes once selected and I believe it is still a bug. My advice would be to delete the library and then re-add your TV shows library making sure to unselect that option.

Don't forget the client setting:

Client Settings > Display > "Display missing episodes within seasons"

I’ve searched through all my plug ins, including TVDB, and have not located a setting that is related to missing content like this. Was considering just uninstalling plugins but if the missing episodes are difficult to remove, I’m not sure how I’ll know I’ve resolved the issue.

The "Missing Episode Fetcher" is in the library settings: Dashboard -> Libraries then choose your library and select Manage library. Note this option is only there if you have the TVDB plugin installed.

Thank you so much, I found the setting as recommended above! I’m sure it’s going to be a process to get the phantom episodes removed from clients but at least the root cause is resolved! Thanks again @theguymadmax
