Windows native Jellyfin and IIS on the same machine - mutha - 2024-07-22 I am testing a single PC for use (with internet access), at a non-profit sporting club. I have to use Windows 11. Jellyfin would be used purely for how-to videos and member contributions - Its point and click interface suits the user base capacity to use a PC. I have installed in testing and had both IIS and Jellyfin working. IIS on port 80 and the embedded web service for the 'standard Windows' non-service install of Jellyfin on port 8096 Whilst this setup seemed to work - prior to investing too much in a final product I am wondering if anyone on this forum has knowledge or experience (advice) on whether I should be using either the 'as a service' install or running Jellyfin using IIS. As I say, it seems to work natively but I have not done anything other than checking the IIS default page and the login for Jellyfin. If I am not clear in what I am saying here, please let me know and I will try to expound. Thanks in advance. And it requires some additional config. Primarily changing the user the service runs as. |
