Path could not be found. - RuralAnemone - 2024-07-27 Issue: trying to add a folder to a media library gives an error: > The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again. Solutions I've tried to no avail: - restarting Jellyfin - restarting my machine - ensuring that /home/ruralanemone/Videos and /home/ruralanemone/Videos/movies/** have at least rwxr-xr-x permissions I'm not entirely sure what else there is to do; Jellyfin has access to the files I'm trying to add to the library. Am I doing something wrong? --- OS: Debian GNU/Linux bookworm 12.6 x86_64 Host: Latitude 5400 Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-23-amd64 Jellyfin Version: 10.9.8 (from official Debian apt repo) and here's the directory listing:
RE: Path could not be found. - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-27 You should not be storing files that need to be shared with other users in your home directory. Sure the directories themselves have 755 permissions, but /home/ruralanemone also needs to be opened up. Which is something you should not do. Your home is a private directory due to ssh keys and other sensitive files being located there. Relocate your media files out of your home to something like /media, which does not contain any sensitive information.
