Firefly metadata edit - t3kg33k - 2024-08-13 I'm having a problem with Jellyfin reading the file labeling of Firefly TV series incorrectly. I have the files labeled as such (I think per TheTVDB): Example: Firefly-S01E01-The_Train_ Job.mkv However, Jellyfin is reading this file as Serenity. I've attempted to edit the metadata for the episode by changing the External IDs to the correct number for both IMDb and TheTVDB but it doesn't change the metadata to match the filename. This is pretty much the same issue for every episode in the series. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix this issue? Thanks. RE: Firefly metadata edit - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-13 For the show, click on the context menu "..." and "Edit Metadata". About halfway down the menu is a drop down to select alternate orderings. The Train Job is the first episode of the "Aired" ordering while Serenity is the first episode of the DVD ordering. RE: Firefly metadata edit - t3kg33k - 2024-08-13 I'm not sure that's the problem. I already have the series in DVD order. Even though the file path is pointing to the correctly labeled episodes, Jellyfin is mislabeling them when I look at the Title and adding the incorrect External IDs. Screenshot https://imgur.com/a/2ukqDDT RE: Firefly metadata edit - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-13 I understand that. The Train Job is the first episode of the AIRED order. So if you have it set to DVD order, that is the problem. The title you put in the file name does not affect the name in the Jellyfin UI. It uses "s01e01" in the filename, plus the show name in the folder, plus whatever ordering you selected, and pulls down the appropriate episode name from TMDB/TVDB. RE: Firefly metadata edit - t3kg33k - 2024-08-13 I changed it from DVD to aired and it did not affect a change. I'm still not so sure that is the issue. RE: Firefly metadata edit - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-13 Now that you've changed the order now try to rescan and "replace all metadata". I can't remember if changing the ordering will trigger a rescan. Also, do you have NFOs that are externally managed? RE: Firefly metadata edit - t3kg33k - 2024-08-13 Yeah, that didn't work. I even re-scanned my entire TV library with "replace..." and it is still incorrect. May try to play around with relabeling the files to see if that fixes it. RE: Firefly metadata edit - t3kg33k - 2024-08-13 Solved it. It was the file naming. I had incorrectly labeled the files according to the air date instead of DVD order. e.g.Firefly-S01E01-Serenity.mkv Renamed all the files according to the DVD (Blu-ray) order and is well in the world. |
