No audio on fire stick on my DVD rip mkv - pollik - 2024-10-29 I've ripped a DVD for the first time, I've used makeMKV and made some .mkv files. They play fine on my laptop in both VLC player and Jellyfin, but using Jellyfin on my amazon fire stick on the TV it only plays the video - no audio comes out. Weirdly this then also stops audio working for everything on the fire stick until it is reset. Everything else plays fine on Jellyfin on the amazon fire stick. Anyone got any ideas as to what I've done wrong here? Jellyfin tells me the .mkv has the following properties: Container: mkv Size: 4009 MB Audio Title: Mono - English - Dolby Digital - Default Language: eng Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: Yes Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: English - Default - DVDSUB Language: eng Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: Yes Forced: No External: No Video Title: 576p MPEG2VIDEO SDR Codec: MPEG2VIDEO AVC: No Profile: Main Level: 8 Resolution: 720x576 Aspect ratio: 4:3 Anamorphic: No Interlaced: No Framerate: 25 Bitrate: 5956 kbps Bit depth: 8 bit Video range: SDR Video range type: SDR Pixel format: yuv420p Ref frames: 1 Audio Title: Mono - Nor - Dolby Digital Language: nor Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: No Forced: No External: No Audio Title: Mono - Swedish - Dolby Digital Language: swe Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: No Forced: No External: No Audio Title: Mono - Danish - Dolby Digital Language: dan Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: No Forced: No External: No Audio Title: Mono - Finnish - Dolby Digital Language: fin Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: Nor - DVDSUB Language: nor Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: Swedish - DVDSUB Language: swe Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: Danish - DVDSUB Language: dan Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: Finnish - DVDSUB Language: fin Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: Ice - DVDSUB Language: ice Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Subtitle Title: English - DVDSUB Language: eng Codec: DVDSUB AVC: No Resolution: 720x576 Default: No Forced: No External: No Audio Title: Mono - English - Dolby Digital - Default Language: eng Codec: AC3 AVC: No Layout: mono Channels: 1 ch Bitrate: 192 kbps Sample rate: 48000 Hz Default: Yes Forced: No External: No RE: No audio on fire stick on my DVD rip mkv - theguymadmax - 2024-10-29 Post your server and any FFmpeg logs via Pastebin. Without reviewing them, I suspect there may be an issue due to mono audio. Try going to the ATV client, then navigate to Playback -> Audio -> Audio Output, and change the setting to "Downmix to Stereo." I don't have any surround sound, but I presume this would mean it wouldn't work? RE: No audio on fire stick on my DVD rip mkv - crawdaddydoo92 - 2025-01-28 I'm having a similar issue to the original post. I'm still quite new to this media server arena so you may have to explain how to get the data/logs you want. Two of the series I've saved, so far Fresh Prince and Full House don't have the main audio working on my fire stick. Oddly enough, the audio commentary audio on a full house episode worked and I could hear the audio in the background but if I went to the audio track alone I got silence. I haven't come across a Fresh Prince with commentary yet to see if it happens there. When I play the same Fresh Prince episode, the pilot, on my Android phone, Galaxy S20, on my Ubuntu laptop in fire fox, or on my Xbox, I'd wager my tablet as well, all is fine. But, if I try to play on my fire tv stick 4k with os 6.7.0.9 I get silence. I'm not sure what transcoding settings to change but I've seen many google answers saying to go that route. I've tried a few settings in the jellyfin app on the fire tv stick and on my server via fire fox but no luck. Any suggestions on where to try next, or on what I can show you to get more advice? RE: No audio on fire stick on my DVD rip mkv - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-28 Can you share your full server logs via privatebin.net? In version 10.10.4, there was a bug that caused transcoded audio to be output as stereo MP3, which resulted in no audio on some devices. This issue was fixed in 10.10.5. I’d need to review the ffmpeg logs to confirm if this is the issue in your situation. |
