Budget hardware feedback - Palada - 2024-12-06 Hey everyone, i was using my main PC as Jellyfin server for a while with dual boot, but now i want to stick to windows only in that machine and though about scavenging used parts to build a small cheap server, this is what i end up with after some research: CPU: Intel Core i3 8100 (UHD Graphics 630) Mobo: Generic H310 or B360 RAM: 2x4gb DDR4 2133/2400 SSD: 128gb NVMe (any reputable brand) Case: Micro ATX slim w/ 200W power supply I already have an HDD filled with videos so thats covered. What do you guys think? Is it reasonable? I use Jellyfin to stream to my TV like my personal streaming service, video quality varies from 1080p h264 to 4K HEVC. RE: Budget hardware feedback - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-06 Quick Sync in that CPU is still pretty capable. Should be just fine. Nice, I got a good deal on a Pentium Gold G5600 (around $ 7), should be similar to the i3 8100 according to specs, is there a reason to stick to the i3 in that case?
