I have my jellyfin library on a 7200RPM sata drive. Main OS is SATA SSD. OS is Win10Pro. JF Server 10.10.7, fresh install. Trickplay's enabled. Set to process priority idle, one ffmpeg thread only, only on keyframes, and every 15 seconds only. Despite this, when the scanner picks up on new titles, trickplay extraction annihilates the hard drive to the point where streaming becomes impossible.
Is there any way to further throttle trickplay?\
Nevermind! I found a setting to uncheck "extract trickplay images during library scan" for my libraries - let the trickplay happen at 3AM, who cares if the server becomes unresponsive then.
