The subject says it all. I'm setting up a new Jellyfin server and, as I've had issues getting the correct metadata to propagate before, I'm loading only one show at a time and trying to get things running correctly from the start. I've not loaded any music yet but the movies I've put in have loaded fine ... well, all but one of them which has no metadata at all, but the films all loaded correctly (individual films are listed separately while film collections have grouped together properly)

I also have 3 TV series loaded and that's where this problem lies. One of the series shows no episodes at all. None. It is just an empty library (I've tried loading it 3 times, no joy). That's weird and for another thread (which I'll search for then post about, if needed). What is truly bizarre, however, is that 2 seasons of one show have loaded into the library of the third show! But just 2 of the seasons. The other seasons show up fine in the proper library (although there is no metadata for either of these shows, another subject I'll have to search out later). I simply cannot figure out what's going on.

Why would just part of a series be loaded into the library of another series? I checked in my folders and, no, all seasons of the split-up series are in the same directory, but the problem remains. Anyone have any thoughts? Many thanks.

What does your file organization look like? Many times, this sort of issue comes from file or folder names -- or folder structure -- that does not conform with Jellyfin documentation.

I have my TV shows set up as recommended. The folder setup for each show is:

Show Name (Release Year) [IMDB ID]
    Season 1
    S01E01 - Name of Episode
    S01E02 - Name of Episode
    Season 2
    S02E01 - Name of Episode
    S02E02 - Name of Episode

This works fine, for the most part, in my other Jellyfin setup (this one is for my sister's media library, the other is my personal library), but not here at all. I did fix the episodes-being-in-the-wrong-show issue. I Removed the Library of the show that had split its episodes then created a new Library and the episodes are now in that correct library. The problem of having wrong metadata - or - with the shows I've put in my sister's database, no metadata whatsoever persists.

Is the above NOT the best way to structure shows? Thanks for any ideas you can offer.

I forgot to mention that not only is wrong metadata imported, but the episodes themselves are being renamed in the Libraries. It's not that the episode names disappear but they only show if you click on the tile for an episode. Then it will have the correct episode name, but also the wrong one as well. Also, the wrong names and metadata are for Asian shows which also were released just in the last few years, not the decades ago of some of my shows.
