Hey there,
I’m having a problem with several 4K titles that play fine on other devices but show a black screen (audio works) on an Android TV (client 0.18.11).
The issue appears with The Hobbit – an unexpected journey . If I set the “maximum bandwidth” to ~30 Mbit/s, Jellyfin switches to transcoding and the video appears correctly.
For comparison, The lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring has almost identical video and audio streams (see attached MediaInfo). That movie plays fine without changing the bandwidth, but Jellyfin still remuxes the audio/container.
Since I don't have any logs fromThe Hobbit when I don't transcode it, I can only provide the general log entry, when the movie starts:
I'm using Jellyfin Server 10.10.7 in a docker container (from linuxserver.io) running on an LXC on my Proxmox 8 Host. But I don't think that this is important, because I have the same issue when I install Jellyfin Server on my Mac Mini 4 or my dedicated Hardware Ubuntu Server.
I'm using an Nvidia Shield 2017 with the latest Experience Update (Version 9.2.1) but it also doesn't work, when I install the AndroidTV Version onto my Samsung Fold Z3.
There was a similar Github Issue with a follow up Issue. I tried to copy the file with ffmpeg like described, but that didn't work.
If I forget any details, please let me know.
Can someone help me here? I'm pulling my hairs because of this issue since weeks and I'm at the end of my road to find a solution for this.
