Unfortunately I can't afford huge 20TB drives, but I do have access to multiple smaller drives. average size it about 2TB and I use a usb drive dock that can use 4 disks at a time. NAS also isn't possible because they are also expensive. While I am not cheap, I just prefer to use what I have on hand first.
I have a couple of questions on this.
1. After the initial media scan, can Jellyfin keep and show the information on this drive (posters, thumbs, etc.) after the drive has been disconnected?
I tested this and while the "list" shows the poster, if i click on the poster to get more information then posters, thumbs, etc. don't show.
2. All my drives have a number and cataloged, but is there a way to easily show which drive I need to activate to watch the media?
Sorry if this question has been asked. I see alot of posts of people just telling someone to purchase a really large drive, which is ideal, but not possible for me. I never know what my wife or kids are going to want to watch, so I am looking for a way for them to browse the media catalog and then I can turn on the drive needed.
thanks for any info
