I am struggling to playback 4k movies back from my JF server running on a DS423+ onto my client running on WebOS on an LG G5.
I transcoded a 4K movie with DV profile 7.6 and DTS to profile 8.1 and EAC3. I *think* I transcoded successfully as both MediaInfo and my JF client recognize the video track as DV 8.1 and the audio as Dolby Digital+. The movie is saved as an MKV and to my knowledge DV 8.1 and Dolby Digital+ can be direct played by the LG G5.
While the movies do play, as soon as they start my server spins up FFMPEG which subsequently maxes my NAS's weak CPU and causes buffering on the client.
Both my client and server are on the same LAN with gigabyte speeds and Iperf3 from a laptop to my NAS shows 300mb minimum down from my NAS, so I don't think that any buffering can be attributed to networking.
Please let me know if you have any ideas!
