Hello all, I meant to post this after posting on reddit, but the day got away from me.
The setup:
After the most recent Jellyfin update, the TV, although it can see the Jellyfin server via DLNA, it doesn't show all the contents of two shares.
The TV presents this folder structure for movies, with similar scheme for TV:
Movies
Continue watching (missing content - I'm not worried about this)
Latest (populated)
Movies (missing content - the main issue)
Collections (na I have none)
Favorites (populated when added via web)
Genres (missing content)
Strangely, it shows the most recently added TV shows / movies. If I log in via a webpage to the DLNA users account and favorite a movie or TV show, that item will then show up on the TV.
Up until now, the DLNA setup has worked without issue.
Things I have tried / issue remains after trying the things below:
I can muddle my way through Linux tutorials but don't consider myself an everyday user. I wasn't sure how to revert to a previous version without removing Jellyfin's settings (user accounts, database etc) and starting all over again (as kinda seen here https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-solved-dlna...light=dlna)
Thanks in advance for the assist!
Here are the logs after I tested playback of a file, skipped forward a couple of times from the Latest movies folder on the TV. Strangely it doesn't show the playback of the file I now realize there were different ffmpeg logs for the playback, but don't see logging for my test. Logs were as pretty empty as this was the first use of the day.
The setup:
- Jellyfin v10.11.4 on an Ubuntu server VM. Jellyfin is the only thing on the server.
- TV: Panasonic Viera GT50
- Two shares: Movies and TV shows
- This is for my aging parents who are comfortable using the tv remote to navigate, other wise I would have installed a pc.

- Restarting the Jellyfin server
- Restarting the VM
- Refresh all metadata for both shares
- Creating a new DLNA user and applying that to the DLNA plugin settings
- Removing and re-adding the DLNA plugin. Each time restarting the Jellyfin instance on the server.
- Removing the v10 DLNA plugin with v9 - Also tried v8, but saw a message it wasn't supported
- Playback test of a file in the Latest folder - this works fine.
