    SOLVED: Playback Issue

Content seems to take a few attempts to play.

I've been having this issue on Amazon Firestick where if you try to play a movie or tv show it will not play, you exit, try again, exit, and try again and maybe on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th attempt the content will suddenly start playing. Can anyone make sense of the logs for this, maybe point me in a direction?[attachment=1778]

Please don't paste huge blocks of text here. Upload them to one of the paste bins and link it here. Or attach it.

What codec is the video? And what model firestick?

Sorry, I had no idea, I'll be careful in the future. It's an mkv, H264. Firestick is 4K, software 6.7.0.0

MKV is the container. Click on the "..." context menu for the video and click "Media Info" and share that here. Also, which Firestick 4K? There have been several.

That is an ordinary file that your Firestick should be able to play without issue.

In the Android TV app there is a setting to send error logs to the server. Turn that on, replicate the problem and then share the error log the Firestick generates?

test a copy without the subtitles

    ffmpeg -i (infile).mkv -map 0:v -map 0:a -c copy (outfile).mkv

I'll give the error logs a go. As for subtitles, this happens with a lot of different content and some of that content lacks subtitles. It's odd because I could throw on one tv series all day and have zero issues, but then I'll switch to another and suddenly playback issue.

So, interestingly, the content that doesn't play, there are no logs when it doesn't. I tried with a few, not until it plays does it send along any logs, so it's useless.
