Hi All,
I am looking for general IPTV help. I am using Jellyfin to watch IPTV but I know it is not Jellyfin causing the actual issue
I'm running IPTV in Canada without any sort of VPN from a [source remove - TheDreadPirate] website that I use on a Windows PC. Up until 2 days ago the system had been working fine for 4-5 months, using XTeve and streaming with a m3u URL through Jellyfin. Now suddenly my IPTV streams are shutting off after about 30 seconds of play time.
I tried running my existing IPTV URL directly through VLC, channel would play for around 30 seconds then abruptly switch to the next available channel. So this determined it had nothing to do with media server
Tried running a new URL directly through VLC with a single channel, content played again for about 30 seconds then the stream stopped
A mod from the website indicated there is nothing wrong with the stream, I tried 'other channels': various US channels, a Mexico channel, some XXX channels on top of my usual Canadian channels, they all did the same thing. Play for around 30 seconds then turn off. If they are in a playlist with other channels it will switch to the next channel, if it is just a solo channel the stream turns off
I also tried running the stream whilst using a VPN. This made the issue less consistent (some channels would stay on) but many channels still cut out after 30 seconds
I have been told by another user it is something to do with my setup and to check my router, but unfortunately I do not even know where to start with this. I can access my routing settings through my browser but do not know what to troubleshoot.
I also tried a different IPTV service and it had the same issue.
I would appreciate any help or insight as I am at a bit of a loss
