Each time I run Jellyfin on my PC, I have to reenter the server's hostname and port using the "Add Server" utility. Once done, all of the rest of the login process works as expected.

This started a few weeks ago, and I didn't make any Jellyfin or networking changes that I recall.

Does anyone have any experience with why the client isn't saving the server?

SOLVED: Go to reply #6 for the resolution.

    Client:
    Windows 10 running Jellyfin 1.9.1
    Installed using .exe

    Thanks for the reply.

I looked for C:\Users\yourUser, but couldn't find a "yourUser" directory.... can you help more?

Just kidding, couldn't help myself.  See attached.

The log has a couple messages indicate it can't load saved servers, but doesn't state why.

This user had to reinstall JMP and made sure to delete the appdata folder we found the log in.

Thanks for pointing me to that issue.

I had tried reinstalling before, but uninstalling, deleting the AppData folder, then reinstalling fixed it.

I figured out what was causing the issue. Not at a root cause level since I'm not in the code.

When I would stream HEVC content from my Jellyfin server, hosted on a Synology DS1522+ with no GPU, Jellyfin would sometimes hangup on the stream and the client would freeze. Closing out the client with the red X close button would seem to close the client, but when restarted it would have the issue of not finding the saved servers.

Going into task manager and stopping the process for the Jellyfin client fixed the issue and lets the client start with the saved servers.

I have a somewhat similar issue wtih VLC and HEVC files, where I'll need to stop the process in task manager. My Jellyfin client is running on a Windows 10 laptop with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M GPU, but it still has issues with HEVC playback.
