    hello,
I "managed" to configure trickplay inside each of my libraries, however I am wondering how long it should take to scan the images, since the task started last night at 4:00 AM and being 8 PM the next day (today), it is only at 12% and I wanted to know if that depended on some factor, such as the size of the library, number of movies, disk speed or processor power.

Library size and processing power are the main factors. There are also options for acceleration, but I think that is only for decoding maybe? Regardless. My library is about 3.5TB and it took about a day and a half.

This also tracks from when I ran the old Jellyscrub plugin. So nothing is out of the ordinary. At least for my setup.

So basically and according to your comments, is the scan time normal and should I wait quietly? 🤔

I gave mine 4 threads, IIRC the default is 1 or 2 threads? You can give it more to speed things up, but what you're describing is not outside of the norm.

For me it was 1.5 days on an i3 12100. I don't know how big your library is, but it will take longer on a i5 7500.

Before I upgraded to my current 12100, I was using a low power Intel J4205. My library was much smaller back then and it took 3 days for Jellyscrub to finish generating the trickplay files.

How long has it been running? Mine took about a day and a half to finish.

I know I'm butting in, but figured I would share where I'm at since I have been working through this as others have stated long run times.

The process kept stopping and restarting for a few reasons, so I removed the scheduled task, ran the task, and have been watching it since. I am currently at 92.8% after almost exactly 228 hours of trickplay file generation. My config dir is now 76 GB, up from ~30 GB before trickplay file generation (I didn't take an initial measurement before files started generating). I can estimate by saying that /config/data/metadata (where trickplay files live) is 48 GB, however, other metadata lives there and contributes to this total. My /config/data dir accounts for 70/76 GB of my install directory.

I also have a sneaking suspicion I need to clean up a bit in there, but I'm not keen on touching anything I don't know the purpose of as of yet...
