I run a Jellyfin server on an N100 NUC, and serve to two devices - a Sony Android TV and an LG OLED through a Shield Pro.  I'm having trouble with Bluray remux files.

With the Shield Pro on the LG C3, the bluray remux is being transcoded to H264 for some reason, rather than direct play which I would expect.  The transcode is resulting in a blank green screen.

Looking at the logs, I can't parse the reason for the transcode.  Attached for assistance.

I don't believe that it's a network or transcoding bandwidth issue as if I select external player (VLC), it works great but it's HDR10 instead of DV - and I'd prefer to stick with the internal player for DV support on the rest of the library.  I don't believe it's an audio issue either as I've tried direct to TV and via receiver (Pioneer VSX-935), with the same video transcoding results.

Anyone had any success with remux files?

This is a known issue caused by Intel drivers. Upgrading to the latest drivers should fix it.

Thanks!  I will try this to fix transcode problem.  Any thoughts on why it wouldn't direct play in the first place?  I would have expected the Shield would direct play this source regardless.

Intel update fixed transcoding green screen - still not sure why it's not direct play in Jellyfin though. VLC is direct play but utilizes HDR10 fallback instead of DV.

What Jellyfin client does the Shield Pro use? If the hardware supports direct play then you can open an issue in the corresponding github repo.

It appears that the video is at level 156 (5.2), which is why it is being transcoded on the Shield using exoplayer. See here for further details.

Thanks, this is the exact issue I'm dealing with.
