Problem with new update, restarts show instead of continuing

I've just updated to version 10.9.11
I use jellyfin on Windows 11 with chromecast with google tv
Before the update, when I paused a show/movie, and turned off/disabled chromecast, when I restarted chromecast, I could continue my show from where I left off.

Now when I restart chromecast, instead of giving me the chromecast startup screen with apps and recomdations etc, it goes straight to jellyfin, restarting the show/movie from the beginning. This means I have to FFW to where I'd left off, which can be hard to remember.

I've submitted an issue on github, but was told that this is normal behavior for android tv, and the issue was closed. But this was not normal behavior before the update, and the problem is the same with Nvidia, according to another user.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I played around with Android TV and Jellyfin settings but couldn't reproduce the problem. Do you have any settings in Android TV that are "not default"? Like any accessibly options?

No, just default settings. My problem occurs when I have jellyfin on, paused, then disable chromecast with google home, then reenable it. Before, it would go to chromecast startup screen, now it jumps straight to jellyfin, and restarts the program.

So you're casting and not using the native Android TV app?

No, I'm using the jellyfin app for chromecast wgtv.

The only way I was able to reproduce what you've described is by pairing my phone with the CCwGTV to use the phone as the remote.  Then hitting the "power" icon.  Is that what you're talking about?

I have a google nest that I use to control wifi plugs etc. This is what I use to turn the ccwgtv on and off, with automations. But I use the chromecast remote to navigate chromecast and jellyfin.
