I have to wait 1-3mins before watching any video with subtitles. Im using ASS subtitles and using the web client for jellyfin. Jellyfin 10.8.13 for Docker.

Sounds like your system is burning in the subs, which requires transcoding. What are your server specs? And can you share your ffmpeg log via pastebin?

I do not have burning the subtitles in activated. Also im using a raspberry pi 4 as a server. I just read the docks on ffmpeg for jellyfin and am seeing now that it isnt recommended to use a pi. Maybe i will have to switch to something stronger. Except for the subtitles everything else is working fine with pi4. Where do i find the ffmpeg logs when using jellyfin in a docker container?

Can you replicate the conditions and then share your jellyfin logs via pastebin so we can verify that Jellyfin is, in fact, trying to burn in the subtitles?

I have Jellyfin on the pi4 with 8GB RAM and sometimes the subtitles work fine and other times they don't. Is it the lack of some special configuration or is it the subtitles themselves?

Depends on what kind of subtitles they are. Whether they are embedded or not.

Can you share your jellyfin logs via pastebin?
