[WORKAROUND FOUND] Hello, I'm using Jellyfin on a Fire Stick 4K Max. Before asking, yes I have NVENC enabled, yes I have transcoding on. This is the only device in the house that Jellyfin doesn't transcode HDR content for, and instead just direct plays HDR content, making it look washed out on my SDR tv. The only solution to this issue I've found is to set the streaming bitrate comically low. My question is: is there any way to *force* it to transcode instead of direct playing?

Unfortunately, I think that is the only way to force a transcode that I'm aware of.

Wow, that would be a really nice feature to see come over. Feels very weird that it's not an option.

UPDATE FOR ANYONE READING THIS THREAD LOOKING FOR A FIX: I managed to find a workaround, go to the web client, click on your profile in the far top right, and hit playback, and then set "Maximum Allowed Video Transcoding Resolution" to 1080p. Obviously, this will force output to 1080p, and will most likely not work on already 1080p HDR content, but it's an okay workaround.
