    Hey everyone !

I have some issue on my CCwGTV (HD), where some 4K files, when encoded with Dolby Audio, won't play, but if it's encoded with TrueHD, or Classic Surround, it would play ok. BUT, a 1080p (or less) with Dolby Audio will play fine. And on all other devices (iPhone 11, CCwGTV 4k, Galaxy Tab, Windows (app and web), ...) 4k Dolby is up and running !

JF server on 10.8.10, on Ubuntu x64
JF player on CCwGTV (4k & HD) v0.15.12
    JF player on windows 1.9.1

The main difference I see is that one has Dolby Vision 7.6 (works) the other has Dolby Vision 8.6 (doesn't work).

For the record, The CCwGTV HD does NOT support Dolby Vision. Only the 4K model does.

I am wondering if the Avengers file (which is the one with DV 8.6) is not tone mapping and the DV data is being sent to the CCwGTV. I suspect that the DV 7.6 video (The Benghazi video) is being tone mapped since DV 7 is generally only supported on bluray drives.

    Thanks for your answer !
It could be due to tone mapping, you’re right. What could be a fix for it ? Could I use transcoding to make it playable on the HD CC? (I don’t know a lot about this sorry if it’s a stupid question ahah)

The problem is that the server does not determine when to tone map. The CLIENT asks for it. If the client isn't asking for it, the server will just send the video unaltered. And the result is the client not displaying the video.

Submit an issue to the Android TV git hub. The client SHOULD be asking for a transcode.

There is a beta for Android TV, 0.16. Give that a go.

A work around is to set the maximum allowable bit rate on the client settings to something lower then the native bit rate of the video. This will trigger a transcode, with tone map.
