Movies in Collections removed from collection after marked watched

First post on here, apologies if this isn't the right place to ask this but I've been banging my head against a wall and can't seem to find an answer to my issue-

I have library of movie collections set up so that, for instance, all the movies directed by Akira Kurosawa are grouped. The problem is that once a movie in that collection is marked watched, it gets removed from the collection. Marking the movie back to unwatched does not move the movie back into the collection.

Is there a way to have a collection set up the way I'm trying to, or am I misunderstanding something about how collections work that means what I'm trying to do is not possible.

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. A Movies library exclusively for collections? Or your movie library includes manual collections? I haven't heard of known issues related to this exact behavior, but did find one similar: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/12032. Are you using remote storage sources (e.g., rclone, samba, nfs mounts)?

Could you provide your logs via privatebin so we can take a look?

A workaround may be to remove the triggers for the scheduled task that cleans collections and playlists. One other thing to check is whether you have real-time monitoring enabled.

Are these actual Jellyfin collections? Or are they libraries that you've manually setup like a collection?
